Our owners, Jim Dates and Allan Weiser
In the early 1980’s, Jim Dates and Allan Weiser founded their eponymous
firm. Expanding from a two-man shop in a theater organ factory, DatesWeiser
today comprises a 100,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Buffalo,
a New York Showroom, and a growing sales organization.
Our clients are the best.
At its best, buying furniture is a collaboration, a slow dance, an adventure
of exploration between you and us. Between your vision and our execution.
A relationship is formed. You open up to us. We share our insights and
experience with you.
Maybe it’s a special installation with one-of-a-kind detailing.
Or a desire to incorporate certain materials into a project with critical
scheduling. Bring us a napkin sketch and we’ll work with you to create
your dream furniture.
Drawing on our technical and human resources.
Brilliantly conceived software lets us create detailed yet easy to read
drawings that let you see what we’ll build. But it’s the people
we’re most proud of. Our drafters are critical to the creation of
custom furniture because they interpret your ideas and produce the tools
that show how the furniture will look, feel, and function.
Nothing is left to chance.
It all starts with a meeting between you, the architect perhaps, and
our project manager. A timeline is created to highlight manufacturing
dates, construction scheduling, move-in dates and other factors. We’ll
provide material samples, share shop drawings, and even go on site to
examine special conditions that might affect installation. The project
manager relentlessly pursues each vital piece of information and carefully
coordinates every aspect of the job.
Each project is led by an experienced project manager who works closely
with a CAD draftsperson, a detail engineer, and a job captain on the factory
floor. Jim Dates, owner and principal of the company, is actively involved
in the project to provide guidance at every critical step of production
and installation. |
