New xo Tables Open Up World of Tech Integrated Design

One day late last year Mr. Dates and Mr. Weiser trudged to the top of the executive tower to talk tables. Mr. Dates wholeheartedly agreed and suggested that the xo line of modernist-inspired office furniture introduced at last year’s NeoCon be even further expanded to include some versatile ganging tables for seminars, training, teaming, and other organization tasks. The entire line of xo tables would be sculpted, dynamic, silken surfaced, aluminum accented, and imbued with smooth movement.

The xo conference table comprises rectangular panels that move in balletic contrary motion to reveal a hidden power panel, the secret source of juice for computers, phones, faxes, and power point presentations.

Built on the foundations of the xo look, feel, and ease of installation, the new xo conference table literally slides open and shut to accommodate all wire requirements. Clean, elegant, and directly connected to power, this table will be on display in NeoCon in quarter figured sycamore with exquisite bookmatch veneers.

"Last year we introduced the concept of independent planes created from complementary materials like wood, glass, aluminum and stone," explains Allan Weiser, DatesWeiser president. "In this year’s product line, we’ve added movement. Our conference tables have very functional movements in the planes as they open up and expose the portals for plugs. And the new ganging tables are inherently mobile in their ability to connect and disconnect, depending on the task."

The xo ganging tables are available in a square or rectangular configuration and are quickly connected by means of user-friendly knobs and elastic cords as opposed to hard mechanical fasteners. Corners are scooped out to form little arcs that become open circles for power access when the tables are connected to create a large, homogenous work surface. xo ganging tables are available in a variety of veneers and laminates and feature clear anodized aluminum banding on the table edges.
