New xo Credenza Brings Cool Cabinetry to Hot Line.Developed during the Renaissance as a kind of sideboard, the credence table evolved into an essential staple of the executive office in the 20th century: the credenza. Now, inspired by the clean planar lines and elegant simplicity of xo desks, tables, and workstations, DatesWeiser introduces the sleek, sculpted xo credenza. Winner of the Gold Award for Desks and the Silver Award for Furniture Systems at NeoCon last year, xo returns with an exciting product line that sets a new international standard for inherently beautiful and easy-to-assemble office furniture created from a kit of parts. "The xo credenza is reminiscent of an early Eames elevation with its moving vertical planes that comprise the sliding doors," says Allan Weiser, DatesWeiser President. "But it is first and foremost a classic contemporary piece introduced to provide a special flourish to this years xo product line with its primary theme of planar movement." With its mitered corners and integration of wood, aluminum, and glass, the xo credenza represents an outstanding example of the craftsmanship of DatesWeiser within the context of the xo vocabulary. Presented at NeoCon in a 7-foot wide model in clear-coat quarter figured sycamore, the credenza will be available in several different colors and sizes. The xo credenza features a 1/2-inch frosted-back mirrored glass top edged in aluminum, vertical frosted-glass doors, horizontal drawers, and aluminum edge bands. Legs can be ordered either square or tapered and the credenza is available with either a finished or unfinished back. Like the other xo products, the credenza is a designers dream. "We sought to create a credenza that was both a beautiful piece of furniture and a functional storage cabinet," explains Allan Weiser, DatesWeiser president. "The advantage of working with DatesWeiser is our long experience with custom furniture. We understand the language of custom. So when people want to push the envelope beyond the standard parameters, were right there with them." This year, xo also offers painted metallic colors on all vertical surfaces while worktops still remain either wood or plastic laminate. These lush and vibrant colors beautifully accent the wood finishes and offer even more variables for the creative designer.
