Dates Weiser and Interface Give Each
Other A Leg Up Beginning NeoCon 2002

CHICAGO – Dates Weiser, a leading manufacturer of casegoods and custom woodwork furniture, and Interface Flooring Systems–the world’s largest manufacturer of free-lay carpet tiles–are pleased to announce that the two contract furnishings innovators are now co-exhibiting their products in Interface’s showroom at 440 North Wells in Chicago. This new arrangement will kick off during NeoCon 2002 and will continue indefinitely.

"Although Dates Weiser and Interface represent thoroughly different niches in the contract market, both companies share a mutual admiration for what they represent in their respective markets," says Allan Weiser, President of Dates Weiser. "The beautiful floor finishes and the flexible floor access to power, data, and communications that Interface’s showroom offers will create an ideal venue for Dates Weiser products."

"The Interface Companies understand the importance of systems thinking," continues Chip DeGrace, Vice President of Creative Strategy, Interface Flooring Systems. "A product can’t realize its true potential if it doesn't acknowledge its interaction in a system of interconnected components. It is in this spirit that we are exhibiting the furniture system from Dates Weiser with our floor-covering, access flooring and modular power and data systems at our Chicago showroom."

Both companies share similarly celebrated leadership roles in their market categories for artful design, uncompromised quality, fresh workplace solutions, and a mindset for integrating technology. The Interface showroom–which will display products from Dates Weiser’s award-winning xo line of workstations, reception desks, private office casegoods, and tech-integrated conference tables–is located at 440 North Wells, Chicago, tel: 800-336-0225.

Founded in 1982 by Jim Dates and Allan Weiser, Dates Weiser has earned a reputation as a leading manufacturer of quality and custom executive furniture alongside its recently-unveiled xo line. A kit of parts from which private offices, workwalls, secretarial stations, and reception desks can be configured, xo was awarded the prestigious Gold awards at NeoCon, the nation's premier interior products fair held annually at Chicago's Merchandise Mart, in both 2000 and 2001.

For nearly thirty years Interface has consistently led in innovations of carpet and modular systems. Interface offers award-winning designs on patented backing systems for a variety of end-use applications. Interface is setting the pace for development of modular carpet using materials and processes that take less from the environment, as it strives toward the ultimate objective of designing every product to be truly sustainable. Interface’s carpet manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Canada maintain third party registration to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System; and, in 2001, Interface was selected as the recipient of the GSA Evergreen Award for its extensive corporate wide programs and commitment to build environmental considerations into its business decisions.
